Multiple Teams · Girls basketball recap

The Woodhaven girls basketball team traveled to Lincoln Park on Friday and defeated the home team 79 to 27.  The now 5-0 Warriors caught LP early and often with an unrelenting offense and a smothering defense. Three point bombs rained on the Railsplitters from the outset with Manning, Brennan, Frensley, Shubik, Brennan (yes another Brennan), Wallace, Koss, Erin Marvaso and Currie all dropping tres on the host team. It was an offensive display that set a single game school record with 15 three point shots made for Woodhaven. Brianna Brennan and Whitley Currie led the Woo with 14 points each and also swiped 9 rebounds between them. Brie added 4 assists as well. Lyndsay Brennan had her best game of this young season scoring 10, Allison Manning added 3 triples and finished with 9, Cassie Breen assisted on 7 of those three point shots with pin point passes and also added 6 points of her own. Jaclyn Wallace busted 2 threes for 6, Hailey Leidel attacked the basket 3 straight times for 6, Erin Marvaso added 5, Salina Shubik, Natalie Frensley and Jess Koss each had three.  Our girls are now in for a very challenging string of games beginning with a tough Allen Park team that comes to town undefeated and looking to keep it that way.  Game time is Tuesday 7pm. Go Warriors!
