Multiple Teams · Girls Basketball 1st place in the DL, 9th place in the state!

Teamwork. Togetherness. Toughness. The Woodhaven Warriors are a team that is together and tough right now and they came out smokin last night defeating the Southgate Lady Titans, 64 to 46. In what was a highly anticipated matchup between the two DRL heavyweights the Lady Warriors played with a pace and energy not common to girls basketball downriver and it was too much for Anderson to handle. A balanced team scoring blitz saw three point bombs raining on the visiting team from the opening tip. Allison Manning busted the first one – her triple was then answered by Cassie Breen, Erica Marvaso, Brianna Brennan, Hailey Liedel, Salina Shubik and Steph Suter – all sinking first half 3 point daggers into the heart of a stunned opponent. To make matters even worse for Southgate the Woo offensive devastation was supported by a smothering and pesky defense that kept the Lady Titans off balance and begging for a timeout. Timeout granted.  Cassie Breen lead the Warriors motoring to 23 points with 3 assists and 4 rebounds. Southgate had no answer for Brianna Brennan who attacked all night scoring 9 and pulling 7. Whitley Currie put up 6 points and 10 rebounds. Steph Suter hit two triples finishing with 6, Allison Manning scored 5, Hailey Liedel added 5, Erica Marvaso, Lyndsay Brennan and Salina Shubik all sunk triples and Jaclyn Wallace scored 2. Next stop Trenton.  Friday 7PM. GO Warriors!
