The Varsity baseball team dropped a heartbreaker 2-1 Monday at Lincoln Park. Sophomore Brendan Lyons starting on the mound for the first time as a Varsity member pitched a fine game allowing just five hits while striking out seven batters. The Warriors could only muster two hits themselves and were tied 1-1 when the Railspilters pushed the winning run across the plate in the bottom of the seventh on a hit batter with the bases loaded and two outs. Andrew Dayfield’s double scored Kevin Yanos in the third innig to tie the game a 1-1. Dominic Moore had the only other hit in the game.
The Varsity Softball team had an excellent game at Linocln Park winning 13-0. Ashley Gignac and team had a perfect game until the bottom of the 6th when an LP runner made it to first base on an error. Ashley pitched to 23 batters, striking out 7 swinging and 7 looking and gave up one base on balls. Ashley pitched a “No Hitter” in her first official start as a Varsity pitcher. JV Softball beat Lincoln Park 15 to 0 in four innings. Great job Warriors!
