The Varsity Baseball Team’s season ended Tuesday with a heatbreaking 12-7 defeat to the Kennedy Eagles. The Warriors led 1-0 going in the top of the fourth when the Eagles pushed across two runs when starter Layne Gusler ran into control problems pitching on a very muddy mound surface. The Eagles scored two more times in the top of the fifth, but the warriors responed with six runs in the bottom half of their fifth inning to take a 7-4 lead into the sixth. But the Eagles rallied for three runs after two outs in the top of the sixth to tie the game. In the top of the seventh the Ealgles scored five times on four hits and four Warrior pitcher walks to put the game away.
To end the regular season last Friday, the Warriros split its legue ending double header at Kennedy Friday winning the first game 9-3 before falling in the second 12-5. Brad Connochie scattered five hits in the first game to get the victory.
